Me myself and I

Van Gogh

Henri Matisse

Expressionism (click to find out more)

The term ``Expressionism'' can be used to describe various art forms but, in its broadest sense, it is used to describe any art that raises subjective feelings above objective observations. The paintings aim to reflect the artists’ state of mind rather than the reality of the external world. The German Expressionist movement began in 1905 with artists such as Kirchner and Nolde, who favoured the Fauvist style of bright colours but also added stronger linear effects and harsher outlines.

Above the paintings in bright colour are by Henri Matisse Fauvism has its roots in the post-impressionist paintings of Paul Gauguin. It was his use of symbolic colour that pushed art towards the style of Fauvism. Gauguin proposed that colour had a symbolic vocabulary which could be used to visually translate a range of emotions.

Texture and layering of paint are methods of painting, that allows you to express an emotion; or state of mind.

"I love Van Gogh’s style. Layered paint and Henri Matisse’s use of colour."

My next assignment is to create an image of myself in an emotional expressive painting style.

Beaded Fantasy : The all inspiring beaded bling

The all inspiring beaded bling. Here are a few of my projects - experimentation with beads. I love the way they sparkle like Mosaics, beads are smaller and more detailed.  These images can inspire you to think out the box - it is wearable artsy jewellery.

The Art of Beading

Last month (end of August), I  finally completed my necklace. By threading about eight strands of beads and weaving them together. There are so many methods, I love this technique. You can really make anything you wish to make, with some interest and a lot of enthusiasm. I love wearing jewellery. Its fun and is great with whatever you wearing.
Enjoy Spring.

jewellery , Spirit of Nature

I adore jewellery and have taken a few photos of these designs to inspire you with your own creative endeavors.

This collection is called the Spirit in Nature. The designs are representive of nature. If you have heard of the Artisan in Florida, you can find some of these ecclectic pieces of fine jewellery by M. Pujol.

I especially love the way that nature is incorporated into the silver, and in the free flowing shapes. The rings are beautiful. Please check out Michelle Pujols' website, or visit the Artisan on Florida Road.

Jewellery Durban SA

Durbans' weather has been bad for the past few weeks. But that didn't stop me from enjoying the evening at the KZNSA art gallery on the 26th July. They had beautiful Cameos, silver plated images, rings. I am a buddying jeweller, so do have a look at some of these images, and tell me what you think of jewellery and the exhibit.
Thanks :)
